The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of SoBS Volunteer provision across the South of England. Leading on the recruitment, training, management and support of volunteers, the implementation for volunteer policies and contributing towards the development of a creative and innovative strategy that will ensure the volunteer services support the aims, objectives and values of SoBS. Salary: £26,839.80 any overtime accrued will be taken in lieu
Hours: 37 per week – some evening and weekend work
Volunteering has altered dramatically over the past 18 months. In order to support both our members and potential volunteers, we are increasing our team to include this important role.
This position will require a flexible approach to volunteering, the ability to listen and respond to the needs of our members, creative engagement with a range of stakeholders and an ability to identify gaps and find solutions. If you have experience in recruiting, supporting and developing volunteering within the local community, this role could be for you.
Salary: NJC scale 20, £25,991 pro rata
Hours: Part-time, 25 per week (Mon-Thurs)
Contract: 2 years initially

We work with people operating community buildings across Sussex, and provide them with advice, information and support through face-to-face visits, via a web platform, responding to phone and emails, and by organising conferences and special events.
If you have a successful track record of running community facilities or similar, have a good knowledge of rural development, health and safety, and are practical and IT literate, then come and join us and make a real difference to rural lives.
